An injury and absentee torn Hurricanes did surprisingly well against a strong Rehab. Danger man Phil Sanchez was still out with ankle problems and Rehabs own Jamie 'Safe Hands' Ward was away on a promotional book signing for his new book, 'Safe Hands: The Life, The Legacy'. A rotational keeper system seemed to work enough but Rehab were three goals down with 20 minutes to go. An inspired 4 goal barrage from Edge rescued the match and we finally saw Yacoby open his goals account with a mid-game stunner.
Captain, Yacoby, summarised, "The team showed alot of character, especially after the winter break. There were match winning mentalities all round, which was reflected by the result. We just need to take one game at a time and not get too carried away with the occasion and I think we can take this season."
In my opinion, Pierce and Edge pose a threat to the Hurricanes week in week out that the Haggis' and the Sanchez' of this world just can't handle.
